The blackbuck antelope (Antilope cervicapra), also known as the Indian antelope, is a symbol of elegance and speed. Native to the open plains and grasslands of India, Nepal, and Pakistan, this striking animal is easily recognizable by the males' spiraled horns and contrasting white-and-brown coat, while females have a more subtle tan coloration.
Known for their incredible agility, blackbucks can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h, making them one of the fastest land animals in Asia. They live in herds, often led by dominant males, and are primarily grazers, feeding on grass, leaves, and crops. Unfortunately, their population has declined due to habitat loss and hunting, but conservation efforts in wildlife sanctuaries have helped protect these graceful creatures.
